Verizon Wireless reaches out to Windows Phone and BlackBerry - ITespresso.es

Verizon Wireless CEO Dan Mead , said on Wednesday that there is still an important place for both Windows Phone and BlackBerry, the two mobile operating systems that aspire to stay in the market against the dominant iOS and Android.

During an investor conference, Mead said there is a vital role for BlackBerry . As for Windows Phone (which misleadingly named Windows Mobile 8), the CEO of Verizon was encouraged with what he saw and noted that this operating system has achieved an important commitment by mobile phone manufacturers.

Windows Phone is trying to gain a foothold in the market, while BlackBerry aims to restore its dominance in mobile devices. Both have Verizon Wireless, the wireless service provider largest U.S. in terms of subscriber base, as equity partner.

“There is a significant opportunity in our industry for them,” Mead said, referring to Windows Phone. Similarly, as reported by CNET, said there are an important place for BlackBerry, claiming that there is still a lot of BlackBerry users in your network.

Like other telecommunications companies, Verizon has a great interest in multiple operating systems available for customers, making sure that it is not so dependent on Apple’s iPhone and devices with the Google Android operating system. “Let there be three or four operating systems is good for the industry and good for us,” said Mead.

Moreover, Mead also reiterated the goal of Verizon to launch a voice-over LTE in 2014 . “We are working to ensure that is exceptional service,” said the officer of Verizon, who moved his company will be able to add services such as video calling and high-definition voice aus offer VoLTE.
