Thorsten Heins, CEO of Blackberry, on Tuesday gave a story that was long awaited by the technological environment: BlackBerry Messenger will be available during the summer (winter in South America) for iOS and Android operating systems, and free.
Thus, BlackBerry wants to put a paw on other platforms as a way to stop the advance of messengers consolidated platform like WhatsApp and Viber upward. BBM will be compatible with iOS 5 or higher and Android 4.0 ICS on.
With over 60 million users worldwide and 10 billion messages sent daily, the Canadian firm platform reaches computers from other companies to position itself as the number one industry. Reasons for being ambitious is not lacking: BBM is famous for its security and speed, something both in the workplace and home is essential today.
In a first step, BBM to iOS and Android will be available only sending and receiving messages, and Option Groups. Subsequently, we added features already available for Blackberry devices: Voice, Video and Channels, the channel subscription service also presented during the opening Keynote Live BB.
