Taiwanese Hon Hai, a leading manufacturer of iPhones and iPads for Apple, which employs more than one million workers in China and other parts of the world, has announced a partnership with BlackBerry.
FIH Mobile Ltd., a subsidiary of Hon Hai, has signed a five-year cooperation with Balckberry to develop and manufacture mobile phones aimed at emerging markets such as Mexico and Indonesia markets, the island’s company said in a press release.
Cooperation “strengthen the competitiveness of Blackberry smartphones, expanding its presence in established and emerging markets,” said Hon Hai.
This cooperation is sought not only enter the Indonesian market, rapidly expanding and where Hon Hai already has a presence, but also of Mexico, the statement added.
The alliance between manufacturing and Blackberry Hon Hai is “a milestone in global industrial technology” given the potential for cooperation in investment and markets , as the Taiwanese company.
BlackBerry is facing a dramatic decline in its global market share has increased from four percent in 2013 to two percent in the third quarter of 2014 and sales have dropped by 56 percent year on year in the last two months.
