It is true that lately BlackBerry does not have too many good news. However, there are exceptions that confirm that the Canadian manufacturer is still struggling. And this exception comes from the hand of the South African market where BlackBerry has achieved and overcome the odds of Samsung.
World Wide Worx study, Mobility 2014 which echoes ZDNet warns us of this reality. BlackBerry has achieved great equated with Samsung as far as market share is concerned. In South Africa last year both companies had 18% of the mobile pie. The latest report speaks of a 23% for BlackBerry and 19% for Samsung .
So, BlackBerry triumphs in South Africa. This success seems to occur mainly in the audience urbanite -assume that more corporate-while Samsung is most commonly used in rural areas where 84% use prepaid cards.
