The Pentagon has authorized the use of mobile devices BlackBerry and Samsung in the networks of the Department of Defense of the United States.

Lt. Col. Damien Pickart, a Pentagon spokesman, said the department authorized the use of mobile BlackBerry 10 and BlackBerry PlayBook tablet using the enterprise service system 10 as well as the Samsung Android Knox. He added he hopes to authorize Apple mobile devices using iOS 6 operating system.

The Pentagon currently has about 600,000 users of smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices, of which 470,000 BlackBerry carrying 41,000 8,700 Apple and Android.
